The Wild Gift Leader Network

http://greenjobsnow.com/

I was made aware of this group by a local organization, the Wakefield Climate Action Project. The petition is an effort to promote the formation of a true "green economy" and to encourage US corporations and politicians that our future place in the world economy is that of a leader in sustainable technologies and green jobs.

Take a moment to read through the materials and include your name in the petition if so compelled!

Cheers
Brian

Hi Brian -- this looks really interesting. Thanks for posting. I was actually thinking pretty hard about "green collar jobs" this weekend so perhaps I was feeling the energy from all these events on Saturday. I'm curious if you or others are following some of these green job proposals. I would love to get up to speed with ideas related to green collar jobs for rural areas. Specifically, I am thinking we need tens of thousands of these jobs in West Virginia. Much of the shipping infrastructure and labor force is ready. I know many advocates such as Van Jones are pushing for new urban jobs related to insulating houses, installing solar panels and more. I've been wondering what these might be for rural areas? Perhaps solar panel manufacturing, wind turbine manufacturing, installation, and maintenance, etc? It would be cool to talk to someone from a systems design perspective -- to see practical ways to engage these new "green" supply chains.

One thing that most certainly has stuck with me from the Middle Fork float -- is to continue to dream big! I'd love to talk with someone who has a bold vision for rural green collar jobs. Any leads?
