Project TitleThe Ozarks Agricultural Revival
Websitewww.fallingskyfarm.comwww.conwaylocallygrown.net
Mission, Goals, and ResultsThe mission of The Ozark Agricultural Revival is to establish a profitable, environmentally-friendly demonstration farm in the Ozarks, which promotes a local food system that produces nutrient rich foods, works in harmony with nature, and reinvigorates the local economy. The farm, a pasture grazed livestock operation, will mirror the symbiotic relationships found in nature, by using livestock management arrangements that maximize productivity, meat quality, and the land's ability to sequester carbon, while decreasing non-renewable resource consumption. On this farm, cows will graze, pigs will root, and chickens will scratch. All of the farm's products will be marketed within a 150-mile range. The farm will also serve as a practical think tank for regional groups by hosting farming seminars and working with local schools, 4-H clubs, and home school groups. In the long term, the farm hopes to install paid internships and coordinate with local farmers to establish a local farmers' market. Cody hopes to use the farm to promote a sustainable, locally grown food movement that will work to preserve the environment and our place in it.

Apparently, there are many good whitewater opportunities in Arkansas... especially after it rains. Check it out:

I hope you have made it safely and soundly back to your farm. I've been reflecting on the many profound lessons of the river.
In Peace & Hope,
